چکیده

An approach for colorimetric and fluorescent sensing of thiocyanate (SCN ) has been proposed based on the competitive-displacement strategy between meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and meso-tetraphenylporphyrin cobalt(II) (CoTPP). In THF-water solution, TPP emits strong fluorescence at 651 nm; however, the fluorescence was quenched stepwise by CoTPP, and then restored by SCN , the detection limit is 6.0 × 10 M. The recognition of SCN could also be easily achieved by visual way since the assembly system showed significant color change by the anion. Both the fluorescence and the color change of the system exhibits remarkably high selectivity to SCN over a large series of anions. The interaction mechanisms among TPP, CoTPP and SCN were primarily investigated by fluorescence lifetime. The quenching of TPP fluorescence is attributed to the formation of TPP/CoTPP aggregates, and the fluorescence restoration is due to the binding of CoTPP with SCN , releasing the free TPP. This simple system has the potential to be used as a latent fluorescent sensing approach for SCN for environmental analysis.

Spectroscopic Study of the Complexation of Meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin with -Acceptors DDQ and TCNE in Chloroform Solution

Formation of the molecular complexes between meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and the p-acceptors 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ) and tetracyanothylene (TCNE) in chloroform solution was investigated spectrophotometrically. The formation constants of the resulting 1:1 molecular complexes were determined using the Benesi-Hildebrand and Nash methods. The TPP-DDQ pro...

Nonlinear optical properties tuning in meso-tetraphenylporphyrin derivatives substituted with donor/acceptor groups in picosecond and nanosecond regimes.

meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and its two substituted derivatives (meso-tetrakis(4-cyanophenyl)porphyrin [TPP(CN)4] and meso-tetrakis(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin [TPP(OMe)4]) were synthesized. Their nonlinear absorption and refraction properties were studied using the Z-scan technique in the picosecond (ps) and nanosecond (ns) regimes. The open aperture Z-scan results reveal that TPP and TPP(CN...

The origin of the absorption spectra of porphyrin N- and dithiaporphyrin S-oxides in their neutral and protonated states.

meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin N-oxide (1) and meso-tetraphenyl-21,23-dithiaporphyrin S-oxide (3) possess optical spectra that are distinctly different from their parent porphyrins, meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (2) and meso-tetraphenyl-21,23-dithiaporphyrin (4), respectively. The hyperporphyrin spectra were reproduced and classified using TD CAM-B3LYP and SCS-CC2 computational methods. Calculations rev...

meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin with a pi-system extended by fusion with anthraquinone.

Fusion with a 9,10-anthraquinone moiety was achieved to extend porphyrin's π-system. A bridged dihydroisoindole derivative was used to prepare the corresponding meso-tetraphenyltetraanthraquinonoporphyrin (Ph4TAQP) via a thermal retro-Diels-Alder reaction. The basic optical properties of the prepared new anthraquinonoporphyrin and its complexes with Zn and Pd were studied.

Exciton diffusion and interfacial charge separation in meso-tetraphenylporphyrin/TiO2 bilayers: effect of ethyl substituents.

The photoinduced charge separation efficiency in porphyrin/TiO2 bilayers has been determined using the time-resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC) technique. Porphyrins investigated are unsubstituted meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and meso-tetra(4-ethylphenyl)porphyrin (TEPP). TEPP/TiO2 bilayers exhibit a charge separation efficiency per incident photon at the Soret band maximum of 6.2%, which...
